Meet our beautiful boy Bailey. He is an 8 year old neutered Pekingese. Bailey is absolutely stunning, from his golden color, to his deep soul-filled eyes. Like any peke, Bailey knows that he is beautiful, and rather expects to loved. But he's also affectionate, and loves to be loved. Bailey likes to explore outdoors, but he also enjoys sitting close to you and just relaxing on the couch. Bailey would not be a choice for small children, but is generally good with any school age child or adult. Bailey is a smaller size peke, and could stand to gain a pound or so. Bailey gets along well with other dogs, and has not been tested with cats but does not appear to have predatory instincts and would likely be fine with them.

Joy and Angel Joy and Angel are both show ring champion Toy Fox Terriers. They came to us when their aging owner was no longer able to care for them, but have lived their whole lives with love. They are very confident and happy little girls. We aren't positive, but believe that they are mother (Angel) and daughter (Joy). They could be placed in separate homes, but we prefer that they be adopted together. Angel is 11 years old and Joy is 8. These two girls are so loving and playful. Like most Toy Fox Terriers, they have tons of personality packed into a 6 pound body -- and it all comes out as love!!! Joy and Angel get along with anyone, but due to their small size, would best be suited to an adult home.

Chewie is a 10 year old Chihuahua male. He is very gentle-natured, and has a playful personality. Chewie is lively, and likes to be where you are, but he's not needly, and gets along fine when you're busy or need to go out. Chewie would love a securely fenced yard that he can wander around in and explore, but he prefers to stay inside. Chewie likes the security of a crate that can be his own personal space. We never close the door on him (except for possibly a few minutes at a time), but he frequently chooses to rest there. Chewie would also be great to take on leisurely walks, or to sit and have coffee with friends at an outdoor cafe with friends. Chewie likes everyone, but he has not been tested with cats.

"At Elfie's Refuge we have two objectives - One - We provide life-long sanctuary and hospice care for small dogs that are blind, crippled, disabled or terminally ill - dogs that would not be considered adoptable and would otherwise be euthanized. Two - We attempt to take in adoptable dogs that are in danger in public or private shelters. Our goal is to spay or neuter, if needed, provide immediate medical care, and seek out carefully screened homes for these pets. For more information, please pay a brief visit to our website." Jupiter, FL

The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter Tequesta DBA Furry Friends Adoption & Clinic is proud to have rescued hundreds of thousands of abused and neglected animals since our inception in 1985. A no-kill shelter, Furry Friends euthanizes only for humane and medical reasons. We are steadfast in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find permanent loving homes for the animals in our care. In addition to our adoption facility in Jupiter, we operate a 27 acre ranch in nearby Palm City where cats, dogs, horses, goats and other animals find sanctuary and a place to live out their lives in a beautiful, rural setting.Furry Friends veterinary hospital is pleased to provide affordable healthcare services for the public including low cost spay/neuter. No breed is ever discriminated against and no sick or injured animal is turned away due to the owner's inability to pay. We work to find an acceptable financial solution. We operate a large thrift store at 615 Indiantown Road in Jupiter considered to be a bargain hunter's dream. All proceeds benefit the shelter, but there is so much more needed to meet the financial demands of feeding and providing medical care for the animals in our shelter. We are a not for profit 501(c)3 charitable organization that does not receive any state or county funding. We rely mostly on grants, donations and fundraisers to survive.
Miami, FL

Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer, donor-subsidized animal rescue organization based in Miami, Florida. "Our top priority is to save animals from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services. On average 100 animals are destroyed every day at this county shelter! Rescued animals vary from being sick, injured, homeless and surrendered to simply lost. We give these animals a safe environment, professional medical care, training, support, hope and lots of love. Our animals are sterilized, vaccinated and ID micro-chipped to prevent future loss. Some require major surgery to repair broken limbs, while others may need rehabilitation time and specific medical care for conditions ranging from respiratory illnesses and skin infections to cherry eyes and heartworm." Paws 4 You Rescue also offers a Seniors 4 Seniors program that is outstanding.

Sanford, FL

Pet Rescue By Judy
Pet Rescue By Judy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue of cats and dogs. Our Shelter is located at 401 South Laurel Ave. Sanford, FL, 32773. Many of our animals come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources. Obviously, our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about: proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love; spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population; low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in local communities. We offer a Senior for Senior reduced adoption donation of 50% of the required donation on all adoptions for seniors 55 and older. Our shelter is located at 401 South Laurel Ave., Sanford, FL 32773.
