Louisville Weimeraner Rescue.

Mt. Vernon, Kentucky -- In the photo at the left: "My name is Max, but my foster mom calls me "Big Love". In typical weim fashion, I follow her everywhere hoping to get my ears rubbed some more. FM (foster mom) says it could be a full-time job :o) I am approximately 6 years old and male. I am neutered, current on my vaccinations and started on heartworm prevention. I will also be microchipped prior to adoption. I have a cataract on my right eye which limits my vison on that side, but I do not let it hinder me at all. My left eye is fine. I am one stocky weimaraner. I weigh 74 lbs but am not very tall. I am the same size as my foster family's lab. Up until my foster mom picked me up I had spent my entire life outside. I was surrendered to rescue by my former family through no fault of mine. I have a great temperament. Weimaraner and couch potato don't usually go together but in my case they should. I enjoy my daily walk but I am always the first in line to get back inside and on the couch for a snooze. You should hear me snore!!!!!!! The 3 other dogs here are crazy-----always wrestling and chasing each other. Although I get along quite well with them, I don't usually join in; it just isn't dignified for someone as sophisticated as I am. I also do fine with kids. Foster mom says NO CATS!!!!!!!!! Apparently, I like them too much! :o) I sleep in my crate at night and don't fuss too much as long as I know mom is close by. During the day, I don't want to go in and will let you know it. I am doing well with the housebreaking, but you have to realize that I lived outside a long time and you have to be patient with me. I have made great progress so far. I know "sit" and am working on "stay", walking nicely on the leash and my recall skills. So, if you are looking for a low energy Weim that likes to eat (I LOVE raw carrots) and sleep, I am your guy. I am being fostered in Mt. Vernon, KY. Phone: (317) 784-5574 E-mail: rescue-indy@louisvilleweimrescue.com. Louisville Weimeraner Rescue.
