Noel is in the guardianship of Gulf Coast Humane Society in Corpus Christi, TX. She has been taken into a program called S.A.V.E., which means she has a special advocate working on her behalf to find a loving home for her. She is seven years old and has found a special place in the heart of her advocate, who writes, "Noel has become a very loving animal over time. She enjoys human interaction and is very attentive. She is recommended to be with children 13 and older, but should definitely be the only animal in the house. Noel is overall a wonderful animal to have." "NEED SOME SWEETNESS AND SMILES?? Then I am your girl! My name is Betsy and I love riding in the car, playing fetch, meeting new people, cuddling, and hearing all about your day. I am a 60 lb. Terrier mix who was brought into the shelter as a stray and I am looking for a calm home where we can relax and watch movies together. You bring the popcorn and I will snuggle close to keep you warm! Also, since I am 10 years young I have seen a lot and know that it is better to keep calm and carry on. I am not jumpy, hyper, or easily bothered; just give me some pats and ear scratches and I will be yours forever! So, if you could use somebody to snuggle with who really loves you, come on over and take me home!" Betsy's adoption fee is only $25.00!!! EVER THOUGHT OF FOSTERING? Well, Betsy would be perfect for your first time! Whether short-term or until adoption, anything would help. The Shelter staff will walk you through the process and it would mean so much to Betsy (and all the folks at Pflugerville Animal Shelter). Pflugerville Animal Shelter is located at 1600 Waterbrook Dr, Pflugerville, Texas, 78660. Telephone 512-990-7387.

A Different Breed Animal Rescue, Dallax, TX, has a unique approach -- "Attacking the Problem at the Source." The organization's mission is to address the tragic consequences of pet overpopulation by focusing on sterilization, adoption and education. In 2003, the city of Dallas impounded 32,738 dogs and cats. Out of these, 26,157 were killed by lethal injection. A Different Breed Rescue believes the solution to this epidemic is simple: Stop the births! Spay one female dog or cat at four months of age, and in seven years you have prevented 7,300 births. Cats and dogs are born faster than they can be adopted. Founding ADB directors: Monique Voelker, Barbara Canter, Debbie Ferrell, Becky Haisma, and Cathi Wood. A Different Breed Animal Rescue, P.O.
