Boone, North Carolina -- Big Red......a neutered, male Redbone hound...about 8 years old .....had clearly been an important member of someone's family....one of the largest Redbones ever seen at the shelter..... found as a stray on Highway 221, behind Grandfather Mountain.....a little hard of hearing, but, boy, is he sweet! Adoption Report: March 2001 -- Wataugah Humane Society wrote: "We love your site and have found a home for Big Red as result of your help. Believe it or not, someone from Columbus, OH (a soon to be vet at Ohio State) has given Big Red a wonderful home. Thank you! Big Red is a happy boy." |

San Francisco Bay Area, California -- Picadilly gave the nine best years of her life to her family, but their "lifestyle" changed, they said, and they no longer wanted her. Adoption Report: August 2000 -- Picadilly was taken in by East Bay Animal Referral, who requested an ad on srdogs. She was adopted into a home in Canada after she was discovered on the srdogs site. |

Washington, Iowa -- Spaniel mix Jake, about 10 years old ... with a sweet, sweet disposition... but with a facial deformity -- his face a bit foreshortened, his teeth not straight, his eyes somewhat askew, and his vision not perfect. What Jake may be lacking in looks, he makes up for with his huge, loving heart. Adoption Report: April 2001 -- We received the following E-mail from LORA1962@aol.com: "A very nice lady from Waterloo who has two other dogs with special needs came and took Jake to his forever home with her and her dogs.She saw him on the srdogs.com site, so we owe it to srdogs that this sweet gentle dog has a forever home." |
